Highlights of the June Meeting

Michael Bart and Mark Angelo

Michael Bart, Chief of Engineering Division at the St. Paul District USACE, receives the "speakers mug" from newly elected Post President Mark Angelo.  Mr Bart gave an enlightening presentation about the latest developments in the Corps' Levee Safety Program and Inspection Program.  Joining the Post at this meeting was the Minnesota Association of Flood Plain Managers.

Due to Mr Bart's high-level involvement with the USACE Levee Safety Policy and Procedures Team, he was able to present in-depth information on a wide variety of program and policy issues such as: 1) USACE organizational concepts and implementation, 2) Classification of levee systems nationwide utilizing risk-based procedures, 3) Interim risk reduction methods, 4) Levee certification, 5) Vegetation guidance, and many other activities.
