Military Transformation and
Mobilization:
Effects on the 724th Engineer Battalion

Presentation Synopsis:
SSG
Lintonen will discuss the capabilities of the 724th Engineer Battalion
stationed in Ashland, WI, as well as the transformation process
that the unit has been going through over the last year.
He will also talk about the mobilization process we are currently going through
in preparation of their upcoming deployment
to Iraq.
Presenter Bio:
SSG Lintonen has
10 years of military service: 3 years with the Wisconsin
Army National Guard and 7 years active duty (3 years
with the 101st Airborne Division 326th Engineer
Battalion Ft. Campbell, KY and 4 years with the 43rd
Area Support Group 60th Ordnance Co. Ft. Carson, CO).
He is employed by Chequamegon Bay Engineering, and has a
Bachelor of Science in Technical Management from Embry
Riddle Aeronautical University.

Social time and lunch
(if you so desire) will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the dining
room of the Officers Club.

The Club’s cafeteria-style lunches are typically $10.00
or less; people who partake in the cafeteria-style lunch
will pay the Officers Club directly. If you come
only for the presentations, there is no charge.

Post Meeting and Presentation will be from
12:30 PM to about 1:10 PM in the ballroom of the Officers Club.

|
RSVP with your intent to either partake in the cafeteria-style lunch
or to come for the presentation only; this will help the Officers Club staff to
ensure that an adequate amount of food is prepared.

Michael Bart, Chief
of Engineering Division at the St. Paul
District USACE, receives the "speakers
mug" from newly elected Post President
Mark Angelo. Mr Bart gave an
enlightening presentation about the
latest developments in the Corps' Levee
Safety Program and Inspection Program.
Joining the Post at this meeting was the
Minnesota Association of Flood Plain
Managers.
Due to Mr Bart's high-level involvement
with the
USACE Levee Safety Policy and Procedures
Team, he was able to present in-depth
information on a wide variety of program
and policy issues such as: 1) USACE
organizational concepts and
implementation, 2) Classification of
levee systems nationwide utilizing
risk-based procedures, 3) Interim risk
reduction methods, 4) Levee
certification, 5) Vegetation guidance,
and many other activities.

through June 2009 ... will again be at the Ft. Snelling
Officers Club on the fourth Wednesday of the month (with
